The school motto, "men for others", is the basis for all work done in the Christian Service Office. The founder of the Jesuits, St. Ignatius of Loyola, stated that "Love shows itself in deeds not words." It is the goal of the Christian Service Office to provide opportunities for the entire U of D Jesuit Community to help become, "men for others."

The Service Clearinghouse
Throughout the course of the school year, numerous organizations call our school in search of volunteers. They know our students are responsible, young men who are committed to service. We are all called to serve - let us help you answer that call.

Christian Service Team/Upcoming Events

Immersion Trips
U of D Jesuit students, staff and alumni are exposed to service not only in the metro-Detroit area, but also in the United States as a whole, and Internationally in Central America. Learn how our students take the Gospel and put the words into action in South Carolina and Honduras.

Focus:HOPE
Like U of D Jesuit, Focus:HOPE has made a commitment to Detroit. Whether it is a monthly food delivery, a freshmen service day or the holiday adopt-a-family program, U of D Jesuit students are a common sight at Focus:HOPE. Senior Service
As a graduation requirement, all seniors participate in service on Wednesday mornings during their senior year. This program gives the student the opportunity to have a long-term relationship with a service site and the people who are there.
